Aldi, Hawick

Aldi, Hawick

The Client:

Hawick is the largest of the Scottish border towns and is well-known for its high-quality knitwear.

The town is situated on the banks of the River Teviot, which also buildings the town’s Aldi supermarket.

Aldi has quickly grown to become one of the UK’s largest supermarkets over the last decade.

The Challenge:

A companionway ladder was required to allow regular maintenance access to the air-handling units that are installed on top of the internal cold storage units (large fridges) which are located at the back of house within the store.

The back of house area was restricted, making traditional stair installation impractical.

The Solution:

The Ascent™ Aluminium Companionway Ladder was the perfect solution, as it utilises treads rather than rungs, making frequent access easier and safer.

Companionway ladders are inclined at a 70-degree angle to minimise occupied space.

Ascent™ Companionway Ladders are designed in accordance with BS EN 14122-4 recommendations and manufactured in our Sheffield facility to the BS EN 1090 CE manufacturing standard, ensuring the product’s quality and safety.
