The Client:
The visitor centre is located on the mountain’s peak at 1,085 metres above sea level and attracts around 500,000 visitors every year.
On a clear day, the tourist centre has views stretching all the way to Ireland.
The building is designed to resist the harsh mountain weather conditions while blending in with its natural surroundings.
The Challenge:
An anchor post was required to provide safe access for maintenance personnel accessing the unique granite clad rooftop.

SATRA tests Ascent™ Fall Protection Posts to EN 795:2012 for both Class A single PPE attachment point and Class C anchor for use with a cable-based fall protection system.
All Ascent™ Fall Protection Posts are manufactured in compliance with BS 8610:2017 requirements.
The Ascent™ Anchor Post is intended for use with a BS 8610:2017 anchor point with threaded inserts for M12 fixings.
A suitable structural attachment can be used to secure the anchor system to a reinforced concrete roof.
The Ascent™ Anchor Post is available in a variety of sizes ranging from 200 to 800mm to meet various roof build ups.
Ascent™ Anchor Posts come with an extensive set of installation instructions.
All Ascent™ Anchor Posts are manufactured at our Sheffield facility to the BS EN 1090 CE manufacturing standard, ensuring the product’s quality and safety.
