Ascent ladders to inspection chambers or manholes as they are often referred are a relatively new area of business for Safety Fabrications.
As ladder manufacturers for many years, we have only considered ladders which go up. If only we had looked beneath our feet, we’d have realised that there is a world of ladders beneath us. BS EN 14396:2004 Fixed ladders for manholes provides guidance on the design of the ladder and clarifies that ladders conforming to this standard can be used in sewage, rainwater, surface water, and potable water environments. The Ascent ladders are designed with two stringers and can receive a ladder extension at the head to allow ease of passage both from & to the manhole. Where required a safety system can also be fitted.
The Ascent™ ladders are manufactured under 1090 factory production control procedures allowing CE certification of the product. The ladder can be supplied in either Mild steel galvanised or Aluminium. The Ascent™ ladders are designed in accordance with BS EN 14396:2004 & BS EN ISO 14122-4:2106
All our products are manufactured in accordance with BS EN ISO 3834-2:2021 and BS EN 1090-1:2009+A1:2011 and carry the CE / UKCA Marking.
