The Ascent Hatch Guardrail is designed to protect the fall hazard “back down the hole” when the roof access hatch is opened.
Roof Access hatches / vents typically take two forms, either manual or Automatic Opening Vents (AOV’s) – which open in the event of a fire to release smoke from the building. The Ascent guardrail has been developed to work with the majority of these hatch designs.
The Ascent hatch guardrail is designed to minimise penetrations to the building fabric enabling the guardrail to be fitted to both new & existing roof hatches.
The Ascent Hatch guardrail affixes to 3 sides of the Hatch upstand. When the hatch is open the lid of the hatch naturally protects the fourth side of the opening.
The hatch guardrail incorporates a self-closing gate allowing users easy access both too & from the hatch.
The Ascent hatch guardrail is designed in accordance with BS EN ISO 14122-3 and manufactured in accordance with BS EN ISO 3834-2-2005 and BS EN 1090-1 2009+A1:2011. Allowing UKCA / CE marking of the product in accordance with the Construction Product regulations 2022.
The system is manufactured from 6082-T6 structural grade aluminium and is supplied in component form making it easy to both transport & assemble on site.
